Chatbot

Definition

A chatbot is a program that talks with people in a messenger, on a website or in an app: it answers questions, takes orders or bookings and passes complex cases to a person.

Example

A beauty salon’s Telegram bot shows free time slots, books an appointment and sends a reminder the day before.

Common mistakes

Giving no way to reach a human.
Letting an AI bot answer about prices or rules it has not been given, so it makes them up.
Building a bot when a simple contact button would do.
