AI agent
Definition
An AI agent is a program built on a language model that does not just answer but acts: it plans steps and uses tools — a CRM, a calendar, email, a database — to complete a task on its own.
Example
An agent reads a new request from the site, finds the client in the CRM, proposes a meeting time from the calendar and drafts the reply for a manager to approve.
Common mistakes
- Giving the agent wide access without limits or a human check on important actions.
- Expecting it to be right every time: agents need logs and review.
- Automating a messy process instead of making it clear first.
