Glossary
Conversion rate
Definition
Conversion rate is the share of visitors who do the target action — send a request, call, buy — out of all visitors, usually shown as a percentage.
Example
If 1,000 people visit a landing page in a month and 40 send a request, the conversion rate is 4%.
Common mistakes
- Comparing your number with averages from other industries or countries.
- Counting every click on a button as a conversion, even when no request arrives.
- Trying to raise conversion with design alone when the offer or the price is the real issue.
