Website audit
Definition
A website audit is a structured check of a site — speed, phone layout, search basics, technical errors and how easy it is to contact the business — that ends with a ranked list of fixes.
Example
An audit finds that the request form does not work on iPhones and that every page has the same title; fixing those two things comes first.
Common mistakes
- Ordering an audit and never acting on it.
- Getting a hundred-page automated report with no priorities.
- Auditing only design or only SEO, when the problem may be elsewhere — for example, in a broken form.
