Responsive design
Definition
Responsive design means a website adapts its layout to any screen — phone, tablet or desktop — so the same page stays readable and easy to use everywhere.
Example
On a desktop the price table shows four columns side by side; on a phone each row becomes a card that fits the screen without sideways scrolling.
Common mistakes
- Designing for desktop first and squeezing the phone version in at the end, although most visitors use phones.
- Buttons and links too small to tap with a finger.
- Checking the site on one phone only.
