Glossary
E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authoritativeness, trustworthiness)
Definition
E-E-A-T is the set of qualities Google’s search quality guidelines use to judge content: experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness, with trust the most important.
Example
An article on dental implants written and signed by a practising dentist, with real photos and clear contacts, shows more E-E-A-T than an anonymous rewrite of other sites.
Common mistakes
- Treating it as a single ranking score you can “raise”: it is a framework for quality, not a setting.
- Adding a fake author or invented credentials — that destroys trust instead of building it.
- Hiding who is behind the site: no contacts, no company details, no real people.
