How much does a website cost in 2026: landing page, business site, online store
A simple landing page usually costs a few hundred dollars, a multi-page business site around a thousand, an online store from about $1,500, and a web app from a few thousand. Below: what sits behind each number, what you pay every year after launch, and how to compare quotes without getting burned.

In short
At Veilvex a landing page starts at $500, a multi-page site at $900, an online store at $1,500 and a web or mobile app at $2,500. The final price depends on the number of pages, custom design, languages, integrations (CRM, payments, booking) and who writes the copy. After launch, budget for a domain (about $10–20 a year), hosting (from $0 for a static site) and occasional updates.

01Website prices by type
Most quotes fall into four types of project. The "from" prices are ours (all services and prices); other teams will differ, but the proportions between the types are similar almost everywhere.
| Type | What you get | Price from | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Landing page | One page for one offer: hero, benefits, prices, FAQ, contact form or WhatsApp button | $500 | from 2–3 weeks |
| Business website | 5–15 pages: home, a page per service, about, cases, contacts, blog | $900 | 3–5 weeks |
| Online store | Catalog, filters, cart, payments, delivery, order notifications | $1,500 | 4–8 weeks |
| Web or mobile app | Accounts, dashboards, roles, your business logic, an API | $2,500 | from 6–8 weeks |
Timelines assume your texts and photos are ready. Waiting for content is the most common reason a website launches late.
02What actually drives the price
Two sites with the same number of pages can differ in price by three times. These are the factors that make the difference:
- Design. A carefully adapted template is cheaper than a custom design made for your brand. Custom design pays off when the site is your main sales channel.
- Number of unique page layouts. Ten service pages built on one layout cost far less than ten pages that each look different.
- Languages. Every extra language adds translation, checks and SEO setup (separate URLs, hreflang tags).
- Integrations. A CRM, online payments, booking, delivery services or a chatbot each add work and testing.
- Content. If the team writes the copy and prepares photos, it is a separate line in the estimate.
- SEO and AI readiness. Titles, a sitemap, structured data, fast mobile pages and a page per service. It costs little at the start and a lot to add later.
03Costs after launch
The build is a one-off payment, but a site also has running costs. Ask about them before you sign:
- Domain: usually $10–20 a year for a .com.
- Hosting: a static site can be hosted for free or a few dollars a month; a store or an app on a server typically costs $10–50 a month.
- Paid plugins or a builder subscription, if the site uses them.
- Updates and fixes: new prices, pages, security updates. Either a monthly fee or pay as you go.
- Promotion: SEO, ads or visibility in AI answers are separate budgets. A site without traffic does not sell by itself.
04Builder, freelancer or team
| Option | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Website builder (Wix, Tilda and similar) | A quick start on a tiny budget when you do it yourself | Monthly fee forever, limits on speed and SEO, hard to move away |
| Freelancer | A clear, small task with a fixed scope | One person means one point of failure: illness, holidays, disappearing after launch |
| Team or agency | A site that has to sell, several roles needed (design, code, SEO) | Higher price; make sure you get one contact person and a fixed scope |
05How to compare quotes
A cheaper quote is not always cheaper in the end. Before choosing, check that each offer answers these questions in writing:
- What exactly is included: list of pages, number of design revisions, languages, integrations.
- Who owns the result: source files, the domain and all logins should be registered to you.
- How payment works: stages tied to results are safer than 100% upfront.
- Whether basic SEO is included: titles and descriptions, sitemap, structured data, mobile speed.
- What happens after launch: a support period, the cost of changes, who you write to.
06How to get an accurate estimate faster
Send the team three things: links to 2–3 sites you like (and what exactly you like), a list of pages or sections, and what the site must do (collect leads, sell, take bookings). With this, a team can name a realistic price after a short call instead of a range from a few hundred to tens of thousands of dollars.

07Frequently asked questions
Why do website prices differ so much?
Quotes differ in scope: custom or template design, how many unique layouts, who writes the copy, integrations and SEO setup. Compare offers line by line, not by the total.
Is a landing page enough for a small business?
For one product or one service, yes. If you offer several services or want traffic from Google, a multi-page site with a page per service works better, because each page can answer its own search queries.
How long does it take to build a website?
A landing page takes from 2–3 weeks, a business site 3–5 weeks, an online store 4–8 weeks. The biggest delay is usually waiting for texts and photos.
Do I need to pay for hosting every month?
Not always. A static website (like this one) can be hosted for free or for a few dollars a month. Stores and apps that run on a server usually cost $10–50 a month.
